In her poem entitled "The Summer Day," Mary Oliver, a favorite poet of mine, asks "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"
Beyond being a mom and a wife and a
friend, I have most wanted to be a writer and an artist. Combining a love of people
with a love for words and fabric, I am exhilarated to be at this point in my life. Thanks to the
grace of God, I find myself in a place today where I am blessed with the
opportunity to befriend remarkably talented fiber artists, who eagerly respond to
various calls to make quilts leading to outstanding book and exhibit projects.
This website contains the various
challenges I’ve organized, past, present and future. To learn more about these projects, click any of the links above.
I live with my family in Northern
Virginia and am happy to be a member of the Fairfax Chapter of Quilters
Unlimited. In between coordinating these projects, whenever I can, I sew or run
away to the sea. When everything is perfectly aligned, I sew at the sea.
